Max Kelly

Max Kelly created [redacted] in 2015 following public service at the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command. Prior to the NSA, Max was the Chief Security Officer of Facebook from 2005 to 2010, where he founded, built, and managed the Facebook Security Team. He was responsible for all aspects of Facebook Security, protecting the personal information of hundreds of millions of users.

In 2008, his team successfully investigated, prosecuted, and won the largest anti-spam judgment in history. Earlier in his career, Max was a Computer Forensics Examiner at the FBI, VP of Technology for Ticketmaster Online, and Chief Technology Officer of Europe at Thomson Financial Services, a division of Thomson Reuters. Max also served at the US Digital Service, an elite technology unit housed within the Executive Office of the President.

Prior to co-founding [redacted], John Hering was the co-founder and CEO of Lookout, a global leader in cybersecurity technology based in Silicon Valley. Lookout protects over 100 million users globally including the world’s largest enterprises and the US Government across multiple agencies. John began his career as a security researcher with a focus on mobile and IOT technologies and contributed to the discovery of a wide range of critical security vulnerabilities.

John is widely recognized as a security industry leader and is a frequent presenter at conferences including DEFCON, Black Hat Technical Security Conference, RSA, and Mobile World Congress. John is a Partner at Vy Capital, an investment company with $1B+ in assets under management, which focuses on investing in fundamental technological change including Space Exploration, Quantum Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.

Jim Hansen has over twenty five years’ experience in sales, operations and executive management in the information security industry. He recently served for a decade as the President and Chief Operating Officer at Cofense driving revenue growth from $0 to over $90 million in ARR. Previously he was one of the founders and Chief Operating Officer of Mandiant where he led the go to market effort for services and product as well as providing hands on incident response services. Jim has also held numerous executive and management positions in both sales and consulting organizations, and regularly speaks and publishes articles on information security topics. Jim specializes in developing initial go to market strategies focusing internal teams to build a highly customer centric business model that drives customer adoption and retention. At Cofense he was responsible to the CEO and Board of Directors for all client facing functions of the organization including sales, marketing, support, customer success and professional services. Jim developed initial go-to-market strategy for the first SaaS phishing simulation product, drove initial sales through early adopters to over 2,000 enterprise customers. He helped his team create successful launches of three additional products through cross-sell / up-sell and greenfield opportunities. Jim built the organization from the initial six-person team to over 540 staff members worldwide, with direct management responsibility for more than half of the staff. His commercial experience includes executive management, sales and consulting efforts at five different information security organizations, working from start-up phase through successful exits. Jim’s government experience includes over eleven years investigative experience as a Federal Agent, his last posting was as the Deputy Director of Computer Crime Investigations for the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations, where he provided oversight and onsite investigation into the penetration of the Department of Defense’s systems around the globe. His field experience includes numerous undercover operations in counter-narcotics, counterintelligence and counterespionage activities, as well as specialized operations as a part of the national surveillance team.

As a former senior government official whose career spans three decades in the Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of the Navy, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Tim Kosiba brings a profound understanding of public sector cybersecurity, both in practice and in the policy. Tim served as a Deputy Commander within the Department of Defense and was responsible for successfully implementing the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Cyber Security Policy. Kosiba frequently represented the NSA and U.S. Cyber Command at The White House and other government-sponsored deliberations relating to cyber activities. A cyber forensics expert, Tim served as a technical lead for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) at NCIS HQ and as a certified master forensic examiner with the FBI Laboratory’s Computer Analysis Response Team (CART). He has also contributed to academia, serving as an adjunct faculty member with Johns Hopkins University and teaching forensic science and digital media forensics at the Carey School of Business.

Michelle Paulson is a seasoned in-house attorney specializing in internet law, intellectual property, privacy, international law, product counseling, and free expression. Prior to joining [redacted], Michelle spent nine years at the Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia), where she served as counsel, legal director, and general counsel. Her team was named the Best Legal Department in the United States by Corporate Counsel. During her time at the Foundation, she supervised over 60 attorneys and fellows, led interdepartmental tiger teams, set organizational strategy and policy, supported the Board of Directors, served on the executive team, and managed global litigation. Prior to Wikimedia, Michelle worked in patent prosecution, housing law, insurance, and education. She has a J.D. from University of California at Hastings and a B.A. from University of California at Berkeley.

Tina Doshi has a decade of experience building out and running privacy and regulatory functions for Silicon Valley’s largest companies. She started her career in data security at Facebook, where she managed the company’s global Law Enforcement Response Team, and helped design the initial response framework for international and domestic federal and state agencies. Prior to joining [redacted], she was a Product Risk Manager for LinkedIn’s Trust and Safety team, where she focused on product compliance and fostered strong relationships with public agencies. She also directed the Linkedin Minor Safety Program, combatting crimes against children. Tina has presented at multiple US and international conferences, focusing on various trust and safety topics. Tina holds a J.D. from the Santa Clara University, School of Law, and is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
